Monetize Your Blog And Make Moolah

In case you didn’t know what moolah means, it means money!

I created this blog to help others escape the slavery of the 9-5.

You can do exactly what I’m doing and get into the “make money online” niche too. It’s a hugely saturated niche, but will always be in demand.

By now, you should have a blog or niche website all set-up and also know some ways to get traffic to your blog.

Once you get traffic to your blog or niche website, it’s time to monetize it and make some moolah!

Below are some ways to monetize your blog.

Google Adsense

AdSense is a free-to-join program between Google and publishers. Google gets ads from advertisers via another program called Adwords. This allows publishers to show these advertisements on their websites for a share of the revenue, which Google receives from the advertiser.

When you apply for a Google Adsense account and get approved, you are then considered a publisher. You then get the ad code from Adsense and place it on your blog or niche website.

You get paid every time someone clicks on your ad. However, you will need a lot of traffic to make any substantial money.

There are better options to monetize a blog, which I’ll discuss later below.

But if you still want to sign up for Google Adsense, here’s how to do it.

First, go to the Google Adsense signup page. Click Get started.

Enter in your website domain name and email address. Then click Save and Continue.

During the signup, you will get a page that asks you to connect your site to Adsense. Copy this code and I’ll show you where to paste it in your blog.

Next, log in to your WordPress blog. Go to Plugins > Add New and add a plugin called Head, Footer, and Post Injections. This plugin makes it easier to add code to your blog.

After the plugin is installed and activated, you want to go to Settings > Header and Footer in your WordPress dashboard.

Paste the code into the <HEAD> PAGE SECTION INJECTION.  Then go back to the Adsense page and click Done.

You will then have to wait 3 days or so. Google will review your site to see if it qualifies to be part of their Adsense program.

Important: Google may reject your new blog from their Adsense program.  I would wait at least a couple months of having your blog live before applying to Adsense.

Most blog and niche websites get rejected because of lack of content. Make sure to have at least 10 high quality, original content before applying.

Once your blog is approved for Adsense, check out this video to finish setting up Adsense.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to monetize your blog or niche website.  What is affiliate marketing?

It’s the process of earning a commission by promoting other people’s products. These products can be from a company or a product made by one person.

Disclosure: I am an affiliate for SiteGround, the hosting company recommended in this blog. This means I will receive a commission if you sign up through the affiliate link. This is at no additional cost to you. It will help me create more free content.

You can set up your blog for as low as $3.95/month!

You sign up to become an affiliate of Siteground. You don’t even have to be a customer to be their affiliate. You’ll just need a valid Paypal account. Here’s how to become one of their affiliates:

Go to Siteground Affiliates to sign up for their Hosting Affiliate Program. Click JOIN NOW to get started.

Sell Your Own Products

Another way to make money with your blog or niche website is to create your own products. One product you can create is an ebook. This could be a guide, cheatsheet, or even a novel. Another product you can create is an online course.

You can also create software, apps, or digital subscriptions. You can even have another company manufacture a product for your blog or niche website. Make sure to have some kind of landing page created for your products with good sales copy.

How would you like to offer advice or mentorship? You can set-up a contact form so your readers can contact you for your services or set up a 1-on-1 call for a fee. You can coach on anything that you’re good at.  You can even become a life coach and mentor someone. Make sure to create a landing page to offer your services.

In this post, I talked about monetizing your blog with Google Adsense, affiliate marketing, selling your own products, and coaching. These are some of the most popular ways to make moolah from your blog. Leave a comment if you have any questions or email me at See you next time.
